We, the undersigned, believe that public assets, including leisure
centres and museums, should remain directly under Monmouthshire County Council
control, maintaining a clear line of accountability and transparency to voters.

The bureaucrats at the council think they can quietly pawn off our leisure centres and museums to some private outfit without anyone noticing. I am currently digging into their transition plans to expose exactly which pockets they intend to line with our public assets. Do not let these officials mistake our silence for acceptance while they plot to strip away our community services.

No to privatisation, this is a service for local people and not another piece of equity to be sold of for sort term gain.
I appreciate the enormous pressure on LAs, being a former employee myself. However, it Is very short term thinking to let these assets be transferred from public ownership. Leisure and other services play a vital role in local health and well being, ensuring access for all
Museums in particular must be a public asset, they cannot be considered to be a profit making business.
This appalling move will increase the cost of remaining healthy in Monmouthshire. The increased prices will be funnelled into the pockets of private corporations rather than improved services.
Already outside health and leisure organisations have entered into monmouthshire and all but put an end to concesionaries for the disabled and well off. For our leisure centres to be privatised will absolutely be to the detriment of all towns in monmouthshire especiall chepstow.
public spaces for the public
Our libraries have been and continues to be the jewel in the crown, and needs to be protected against losing its services and value to the Monmouthshire people.

The pool and facilities are part of the amenities of the town. They promote wellbeing and community. Please do not privatise a public asset.
