I was forced to move the fire truck as KPPOA threatened to sue county if I didn’t. KPPOA had a great solution, but wouldn’t consider the option. Remove the “Hate Wall” at the end of Ama, and erect a firehouse on Dan McKinley’s land which he was willing to lease to the county. The fire department was in agreement. When our KPPOA president told Fire Chief Moller that the wall would not be removed it took the option off the table, and the Fire Truck is now in Milolii. I want to thank all of you who cared.

The pros of keeping the fire truck outweigh the cons. Surly there is a good location to store and keep handy in the local neighborhood given the nearest fire station is so far away.

Dave Booth was on the car fire way before the firemen arrived. He did a fantastic job on the makai fire on lot south of KP this year. We live across the Hwy & the flames were frightening, really high hot flames.

I think it’s essential that we keep this fire truck. Our response times from Captain Cook Are unacceptable and an emergency. We need Dave Booth to be able to drive this fire truck and I would encourage the board to support Dave, John andThe other essential volunteers in our subdivision. I would also encourage compensation such as paying for their training. This serves our community.

It is important to understand that the response time for a fire in our community would take time this is why we need some protection such as the fire truck

The fire engine protection is important for our community here. We have a large community here in kona paradise seems logical to keep fire protection truck a available here.

Keep the truck in our neighborhood. We are extremely exposed without this protection. We have 350 homes and more being constructed...we exist in an isolated area. Very dangerous without some protection.

I cannot see why anyone in our community would want to eliminate the protection of property and life that the fire department could provide in an emergency.
