My Father was a police officer for 25 years in Orange, NJ. He raised us that there are good and bad in all races, occupations and people in general. If you got pulled over by a police officer, you showed them respect. They did not stop you for nothing. Do not resist. Don't be a smart ass (speaking to my brother), Obey the law and you have no problem.
The biggest take away, You never judged a person by the color of their skin or what they did for a living. I passed those same values on to my son.
Police have a hard job. Defunding police forces would be a huge mistake.

Our police are an essential part of our communities. They keep us safe and defunding them is absolutely ridiculous. They are an absolute necessity to keep lawlessness and criminals from taking over. Please don't let down our police officer, they have never let us down.
