The Confederate Soldier has been there for 99 years. It was placed on the Monument base, in July 1918.

Keep the statue how are our kids going to learn about history and the people our nation has been founded on if we keep taking away every little thing that offends someone... I mean red lights added me... because they slow me down to a point of where I am going but i don't see taking them down.. due to cause wrecks and it is a law our country and states have... why take away ...

In 1861 we went to war over our rights, we have no problem doing it again, remember that. My ancestors stood for what was right, gave everything blood sweat and tears. And I will do the same, even if I have to stand alone, I will fight until every drop of blood has left my body. Protect our heritage

We need to remember our history as it is and move past racism. Remind ourselfs what people have went through to achieve freedom ; no matter color of skin or anything else to stand in their way. We need to remember and overcome!
