If there is something I see that I don't like, I don't look at it. The same with this and all statues, if you don't like it, turn your head.

The statue isnt 'hurting anyone, it's part of Burke county history. No one js rioting here, we are peaceful.

This is the biggest bunch of bull going across the nation. Since when do we give into the few and offend the majority. All the tractor trailers offend me that speed by my house everyday so can I get them removed from the county road I live on?? Enough is enough! Leave it up. There are more serious issues in this day and time than removing a piece of history.

That statue has been here longer than most of us have. Nobody cared until recently. If they care about their political future, they'll leave him alone.

It's our history not hate. If you don't know your history then you are all bound to repeat it. This is peaceful Burke, keep the media and government out of it, all they want is war between the people. We all bleed red and if you don't then I want to know why, lol. I really don't care who you are or where you come from, if you're descent to me I'll be descent to you. God made us all equal. Some people will never be happy, just give it to God. Love one another and learn from our past and our ancestor's heritage and history.

How can we learn from our mistakes - if HISTORY is continually being ERASED? How can we raise our kids to be confident and successful adults if we can't teach GROWTH from what we've learned??? PLEASE STOP TEARING DOWN OUR MONUMENTS...We are parents trying to raise a well rounded children. Instead of removing historical monuments, our statesmen should be writing laws to keep them. #patriot #NOwhiners

I am for keeping the statue. It has been a part of our heritage and this town since I was a little girl. In all my yrs I have never seen anybody complain about it till now..
