Chris has done an amazing job. The park is truly a great place and environment the past few years. If there is a good reason it has been poorly explained it seems and a longer notice should have been given. What damage will be be doing by staying an extra 2 months?

I was evicted last year from the wheelchair-accessible apartment I need & had enjoyed for 23 years. The stress and uncertainties of moving was extremely traumatic. Over the course of more than a year, the disruption exacerbated serious disability-related medical issues, generating complications which continue to literally threaten life & limb.
I hope the County will show greater compassion for this family than did the investment capital firm that ended my tenancy.

Chris and Jane have many years of experience working as park hosts. You don't just find someone with the depth of knowledge they have to offer, when it comes to working with the public, the parks and camping in California.

Please keep Chris and his wife, Jane ,as our park caretaker. It is a wonderful place due to his efforts. If they must leave, then please afford them as much time as needed to find another home as cold weather approaches. Thank you.

I walk at the park with my dog.... Chris is always somewhere in the park working. As we make our rounds, Chris always greets you with a smile and a wave.
There is something small town about this that I don't want to give up.

As a local resident who volunteered at JMP park as a board member, coach and labored to make it a quality addition to our community I've never seen it nicer. I believe this is due in large by the current Host's amazing dedication. We, as a community, need them!!!

Chris and Jane are beloved members of the Julian community. Far and away, Jess Martin Park is the cleanest and well maintained park in San Diego County. Thanks to the care and concern of park host Chris Gardner, Jess Mountain Park is the safest and best family and community park we've ever experienced! The county would be making a big mistake by removing these two valued volunteer community members. Chris had done nothing wrong to warrant this dismissal, he was never written up for dereliction of duties, never slacked on his responsibilities, and cares for our families, friends and the tourists that visit our historic little mountain town. These actions against the Gardner's is more than disheartening, it's a blatant lack of appreciation, commitment and compassion. Chris and Jane deserve much better! Has the park even considered how terrifying the prospects of being homeless are? Before winter? Before the Holidays? As park host, Chris has demonstrated his commitment to our community with diplomacy, integrity and dignity. Why cant's the park administrators do the same?
