This poor animal has settled in his new safe, loving home...would be completely inhumane to send him back to what is KNOWN to be an abusive situation!

We keep children away from abusive parents etc, we should not be returning animals to abusive owners. I'm sure if Oscar could tell us he would say, I don't want to go back there, I want to stay in my new home.

Even if the owner was not guilty of cruelty he allowed 'a relative' who did to look after his dog...,in my book that means that he, himself, is not fit to be responsible for any animal and should NEVER have Oscar back.
