More people are arming themselves with information when it comes to the food they eat. The sham organic hydroponics will not last. Whatever happened to truth in advertising?

Wild Oats "Organics" are sold exclusively to Walmart stores. It just sounds creepy.

The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service understands very well the incredible value of organic soil, as well as soil preservation and protection. What is it that this division of the USDA does not get??? Hydroponics CAN NEVER BE ORGANIC!!! The requirements for organic are primarily SOIL driven and therefore cannot have an equal in the type of growing that hydroponics creates. Even the USDA cannot turn an elephant into a dog.

It is a total contradiction to (rightly) maintain the prohibition on the use of synthetic fertilizers for so many years in order for a farming operation to qualify as organic while allowing certification for hydroponic production. This should be a no-brainer for anyone the slightest bit objective about this issue.

生産者はもとより、消費者のためにも、新たに、土壌有機栽培という定義を作り、水耕栽培との違いをはっきりさせるべきではないかと思います。

有機栽培は水耕栽培とは、全くの別物です。

Organic farming is based on soil. Organic farming means improving the soil health. Hydroponics are not based on soil. Let the organic farming be on soil, we demand USDA NOT TO APPROVE HYDROPONICS for organic farming.

水耕栽培を否定する者では無いが、有機栽培とは一線を引いておくことは必要と感じます。

Why hydroponics need the word organic? if the supplier of hydroponic items has a pride of quality, just explain what it is. No need to use the word organic.

Organic Food is life that sprung from a living organism called soil, Hydroponics doesn't. Hydroponics is clearly anti environment factory agriculture that does nothing to help restore a damaged and dying planet only exacerbates the problems.
