Keep Open the Pedestrian Crossing between Caedelyn Park and Pen y Dre

Network Rail understandably has limited resources...I experience that regularly as a commuter and with consistent failure to deliver to timetables. Signal failures is one example and are regular. I strongly suggest they focus on fixing real problems such as this and heavily question their internal prioritisation processes around (taxpayer funded) investment monies. I have lived within 200 yards of this crossing for 20 years and there is no problem here worthy of fixing. Spending money to do so and with no real benefit would be a disgrace...,especially given the Caedelyn lake debacle would be in view as well...

I am a lady cyclist of a certain age and avoid busy roads at all costs. This crossing allows me and many more to cut through the park and across Manor Way to access the Taff Trail . If used correctly and sensibly this is not a dangerous crossing. I hope Network Rail can see the impact closing this crossing would have on our lovely community.

Keep it open

As a mum of two young children, the route from my house in Heol Pentwyn, Whitchurch to cae delyn via lon-y-celyn & pen y dre provides a much safer and scenic route to the park than if I had to go down manor way. I would be too scared to allow my 1 year old and 3 year old walk alongside manor way. I would either not visit park at all or end up driving. Both would be a real shame. Plus I would be worried as they got older about them visiting the park without me. Please reconsider. Thank you!

A train trundles past there about once every 15 minutes! Why on earth would you close it. It is way less dangerous that millions of roads. Are we going to ban people from crossing the road too? Utter madness.

Why would you close something that keeps kids safe?

The crossing is important to the community, providing the only accessible thoroughfare at ground level from Rhiwbina to Caedelyn park.

So many people use this daily, why close it. Have there been any incidents to necessitate it being closed for safety reasons? Not to my knowledge.

Keep this crossing open, it's regularly used by all ages.

This crossing cannot be closed on the grounds of safety because it will be far more dangerous for children to cross the railway line at Manor Way.

I use this crossing for my daily cycle commute and occasional run. The crossing is regularly used by parents doing the school run or attending events at caedelyn Park. The crossing has been there for all my 46 years and to my knowledge no adverse event.

Closing the crossing is a terrible idea - would close off Rhiwbina from Whitchurch for those walking, impacting both the shops in Rhiwbina and also the amount of people walking - not exactly in the spirit of the wellbeing of future generations act!

This crossing is an essential part of rhiwbina life

Please keep the crossing open, I have used it with great care for many years, it is such a convenient path from Rhiwbina to Whitchurch

Regularly used by me and my boys to access Caedelyn Park.

At a time when all are being encouraged to walk more, it seems incorrigible that a footpath is proposed to be closed.
