Warrington Township is proposing a Master Plan for the Open Space Parcel at Mill Creek Preserve. The plan proposes walking trails, parking lot, benches, etc. Ongoing maintenance of these “improvements” will be the responsibility of Warrintington township, funded by your tax dollars. If you disagree with the proposed Master Plan and would like the Mill Creek Preserve to remain undeveloped, protected, and as is, please sign this petition in support of keeping the Open Space area as is. Other concerns is that this will impact wild life as well as cause safety issues. The Township has been unsuccessful in maintaining one small walking path that connects High Gate Estates and Warrington Oaks - this new proposed plan would be an added, unnecessary burden to the community.

Updates

June 8, 2023

I have spent the past few days walking the preserve to observe the wildlife corridors that would be disrupted by the proposed construction. It is clear that the quiet of this space is a rare resource that once paved over may never be fully recovered. I am currently compiling a list of alternative ways to manage the land that do not require such significant development.

Reaching this point confirms that many neighbors value the quiet character of the preserve just as much as I do. It is encouraging to see our community align on the importance of protecting this land from unnecessary development.

Love open space, love the wild life. Issue w twp supervisors is the tails, parking lots they want or cut into the open space we’re access roads already exist. Why would you cut trails in 50 feet behind residential homes. It defeats the goal of protecting the environment. Issues Cost Safety Maintenance Environment Twp supervisors are putting residents at risk w trails behind homes

We do not need any more walking trails in Warrington, I see how unkept the trail between warringtin oaks and high gate developments have deteriorated

Enough is enough! The area is already overdeveloped and paved over. There is no need to destroy any more beautiful natural space for yet another walking path! We are not the only creatures who live here.

Looks like you are planning to eliminate the poor deer that already have no places to go due to overdevelopment. They are being hit by cars all over the place. “invasive species can thrive with little competition. Controlling deer and invasive plants should be a high priority for management. The loss of ash trees by the emerald ash borer is another “. And, how much is this going to cost the Warrington taxpayers?

Warrington is millions of dollars in debt. Why are they even considering making yet another park we can't afford.
