Needles Unified School District has elected to change the 2013-2014 school year fall break from the week of Thanksgiving 2013 to the week of OCT 21-OCT.25, 2013. This change will affect school activities including organized sports practice and games, National Red Ribbon Week and Fall Festival activities (PTA Fall Parade & Carnival). It will also affect working parents time off and childcare for students. We, the undersigned, respectfully request that the NUSD school board amend the school calendar to reinstate fall break during the full week of Thanksgiving 2013.
