Please let the house boats stay. It's a family tradition that we want to keep a tradition.

All currently established homes should be grandfathered in.

I vacation at Norris Lake every year.....multiple times. It has been some of the most memorable moments for my family. We stay in a floating house. I would hate to see that go away.

Removal of these, especially the new ones that are built to higher standards, is completely uncalled for and irresponsible.

Let these homeowners have the freedom to live where they choose. We are free in the USA aren't we?????

The people of Swain County have had too many broken promises and have too many times been pushed around. TVA controls water flow during droughts, you poisoned our air for years (don't worry, we still have the cancer to prove it, though our views are finally starting to clear up). Is this our punishment for the 2006 lawsuit for the asthma our kids have, for the fact we couldn't breathe when I was growing up, for all those code orange and red days because you didn't use scrubbers on your coal burning plant? You think a few little house boats hurt water quality? Tell us what we need to do. Give us an ordinance, we will retrofit. People here love our lake, our land, something you never understood, as you've taken it, poisoned it, drowned it, starved it, and tried to do all you could to separate us from being close to it. We live simply. We want to be close to our lake because we love it.

I have enjoyed many happy days on Fontana. A houseboat made this possible. If you can't ski and don't want to ride a noxious jet ski, a houseboat makes possible a happy day spent kayaking, swimming, and picnicking.

I look forward to traveling to WNC and visiting with friends at their boat house each summer. Keep it a special place.

My family was forcibly removed from the area. It was a promise of perfect recreational water resources. I knew when the eyesore of houses being built on side of the banks that it would come to this. I knew then that the rich would see boathouses as none worthy. We meet again almighty dollar!

My family has owned a house boat at lake hiwassee for over 65 years and it is stupid to make all these changes all of a sudden.

They want to remove houseboats while those Ohio boats brought down those mussels that are taking over the lake!!!!
