I'm a renter, but realize the importance of revenue generated by all those that own and use the facility's associated with Norris Lake. Please don't mess up a good thing that would benefit generations to come...

We are in favor of keeping our floating houseboats on all TVA lakes! We own one and have since 1996! We have enjoyed our time on our boat and have spent many dollars keeping it in compliance with all regulations over the years. We fully expected our kids and grandkids to enjoy it long after we are gone.

I love Norris Lake and do NOT own a floating home; I have water view property in the Lost Creek area. And my opinion is as long as not an eyesore or allowed to fowl the water I see no reason to force the removal of these fun floating homes.

I have been coming to the lakeshore marina boat houses since I was young, ansd i love it there so much. It is one of the highlights of my summer. We go up almost every weeked after we open it. I dont see any harm to anyone for these houses to stay where they are. They have been there for many many years. Why should they be taken away now?

We have invested our life savings into our houseboat with plans for our family to enjoy it for generations to come. This is big investment that will be simply lost. The vast majority of houseboat owners are responsible and sensitive to environmental concerns. Those that do not follow regulations could be fined and/or asked to remove illegal houseboats. Responsible homeowners should not be punished for those not following regulations. Also, I think it is interesting that environmental considerations and public access to the lake are the concerns with houseboats but apparently not with the fixed docks still being added on the lake by the wealthier lake front homeowners. I would think having a fixed, non-movable dock with very remote restrooms would create bigger environmental concerns than houseboats with sanitary facilities and pump out tanks. Further, the fixed docks certainly block public access to the lake more than a movable, floating houseboat, especially since there is apparently no plans to stop issuing new dock permits. Looks like a double standard. Please don't take our family retreats.

Grandfather in what is already there if necessary but do not force families who have sunk considerable money into their houseboats only to be taken away from them.

My family has had a floating houseboat on Fontana Lake at considerable expense since 1966. We always kept it up, followed all of TVA's rule changes, and enjoyed the experience for three generations. The only ones pressing for the houseboat removal are the few new homeowners that think they are spoiling their view and infringing on their assumed right to enjoy the lake by themselves.
