Keep Nipomo Skatepark free of CASL Contests
I am a local skater at Nipomo Skatepark, a place that has been our sanctuary and our community's pride. Our park is more than just ramps and rails; it's where we gather, learn, grow, and enjoy the freedom of skateboarding. However, this cherished freedom is under threat by the California Amateur Skateboard League (CASL), an organization not even native to our area.
CASL plans to hold skate contests in our beloved park – an action we neither requested nor support. Their events would monopolize the use of the park during their scheduled times, depriving us locals of access to a space that we consider ours.
Nipomo Skatepark was built for everyone in our community to enjoy freely without being subject to external organizations' schedules or interests. It's important that it remains accessible for all who wish to use it when they want.
We respect CASL’s mission but believe there are other venues better suited for their events which won't disrupt local skaters' routines or limit access to public spaces like ours.
We urge relevant authorities and stakeholders involved in this decision-making process - keep Nipomo Skatepark free from CASL-run contests. Let us continue enjoying our park anytime we want without interference from outside entities.
Please sign this petition if you stand with us in preserving the spirit of free skateboarding at Nipomo Skatepark!
