Surely RBS can consider maintaining a limited presence in Barnes by downsizing to smaller premises, with reduced staff, possibly only available part-time.

I couldn't agree more with Zac Goldsmith that this decision will have a dreadful local impact, particularly on older neighbours who are nervous about banking on-line, also smaller traders who need to deposit cheques or draw out cash to keep their businesses running. Additionally, this will put extra pressure on our already overstretched Post Office at Martin's newsagents. We have there a wonderful post-master (post-mistress?), whose patience and good humour I feel might be severely tested by the resulting extra work-load.

NatWest branch in Barnes is a focal point with a much used cash point. It is strategically important for local business and personal trade.

It is madness that a community like Barnes may have no bank. NatWest have always promised that they would stay open.

Nat West can show some leadership here and prioritise the fabric of society over and above shareholder return - Barnes without a bank causes so much difficulty for the elderly who aren't digitally expert, and who can at least engage with community by going to the bank. Not to mention how traders will be enormously inconvenienced. Come on Nat West - be different and stay engaged with the community.

Please rethink about the local community your branch serves. It would be a great shame to loose such an asset.

Leaving Barnes with no bank is not showing any community spirit...and will contribute to local businesses failing...and leave the elderly with no local banking option. Keeping it open...even on restricted times....would be the right decision.

It would be so inconvenient if NatWest in Barnes closed. It would mean having to travel into Hammersmith to pay in cheques etc for customers who do not have iPads or iPhones. Not easy for very elderly customers.

We need banking facilities. There are still times when we need to have a personal contact for our banking needs. Not everyone deals with banking on-line.

I use this bank all the time and it would be really tricky for me with three children under six if the bank were to close.
