I have been reading through the comments all morning and honestly the stories people are sharing about their own experiences with safety restraints are just so heavy but also completely necessary to hear. It feels like everyone is finally starting to see the messy parts of life that usually get pushed aside because they are not pretty or comfortable to film.

I really did not think this would gain this much steam when I first hit publish on my laptop in the dark because I was just frustrated with how everyone pretends these conversations do not exist. Watching the numbers tick up makes me feel like maybe people are actually ready to talk about the messy reality instead of just the aesthetic version they prefer.

Severely autistics deserve to be visible in the arts and fiction, they're almost invisible in the real world because of ableism
As the mother of an adult daughter with severe autism, I support Sia and her portrayal of autism as experienced by some people.

This can be safely done! When there is no other option as your loved ones life is literally at stake, I’ll do what I need to keep him safe!
