It's time for the youthful majority to be heard. West Campus is our home and we must not allow college culture to be squelched here on the whims of a few old-timers.

As a 4 year resident of West Campus I can say that you don't move here for the peace and quiet. This isn't Hyde Park or Riverside, or North or South Austin it's West Campus. Where students have been enjoying themselves and having a good time long before I started attending UT and will be long after I graduate and leave West Campus. By doing this we're just gong to be punishing college students that want to have the full college experience. UT is a top 50 institute in America, and has been a notorious party school. The students here work hard and play hard. They deserve the right as adults to be able to throw a party on weekends if they like. They want a full college experience and this ordinance is taking that away from them or at the very least putting a lot of individuals in tough situations having to decide whether to have a get together at their place or go out and risk DWI's, PI's, potential theft and other bad decisions/outcomes. Please come to your senses and allow West Campus to be West Campus.

Austin is the "Live Music Capitol of the World"- what else is there to say? A major part of what makes this city unique is being silenced, both literally and figuretively.

This is the city of live music. Why are they banning live music? More than half of these events that have live outdoor music contribute to multiple philanthropies and charities. The majority of west campus residents are students. I am going to guess that a huge majority of these students would be okay with live music on the weekends.

I feel as though these new policies particularly and intentionally target the UT Greek community; such a targeting would prove to not be in the city or university's best interest as the Greek community has historically contributed to local businesses as well as provided philanthropic donations exceeding 3 million dollars. West Campus is home to some families yes, however, it is also a registered university campus housing area. It's unfair to punish the students living there when there is limited housing available so close to campus. I suggest the city strongly reconsider these policies less they lose student support for the community, and as a consequence, money.
