Keep Ms. Richburg with the GATORS!
Dear TBBS Administrators,
Happy holiday season! We, the undersigned parents of Mrs. Fraser's Pre-K Gators classroom, have come together to provide Ms. Suluki, Mrs. Fraser and Ms. Richburg with deep gratitude for the impression that their collaboration has left on our children at the lonesome Lafayette TBBS campus by standing in solidarity with Ms. Richardson, the current Cub's Paraprofessional, who is set to move into our classroom in replace of Ms. Richburg.
Our gratitude comes with a simple ask: we urge you to do whatever in your power to keep Ms. Richburg and Ms. Richardson in their respective current settings, as it would benefit all staff and family members.
Ms. Richburg particularly has welcomed our Gators into the TBBS community with a positive attitude and a go-getter energy. It was with deep sadness that we learned of Ms. Richburg's pending abrupt removal from the classroom, tomorrow being her proposed "final day". With only a few days notice, and a two-week long break in between, we want the administration to know how deeply disappointed we are in the transfer of communication. With city-wide budget cuts, we are aware that TBBS is doing what it can to fill gaps and respond to needs arising. That said, we have organized this petition in support of Ms. Richburg because we, as impacted parents, would like more notice and communication about such a drastic shift in our child's classroom community.
Ms. Richburg's open-hearted personality, commitment to the work of as an educator, her full on-going support of Ms. Fraser's needs and her understanding of each of our children's individual needs is a testament to why she is so incremental in our lives. She has been a crucial part of the Gators' development, their sense of organization in the classroom, their feelings of belonging in a community and she is a noble steward for each of their learning processes. We would like to maintain the sense of stability that has been created by Mrs. Fraser's and Ms. Suluki's partnership with Ms. Richburg.
As parents, we all know the significance of continuity, retention and long-term commitments. Please consider scheduling a time to connect with Ms. Richburg and Ms. Richardson and evaluate alternative measures to fill the staffing gap at the Lafayette campus.
If a parent representative is desired, we will be happy to present one.
With gratitude,
Proud Parents of Mrs. Fraser's Pre-K Classroom
