Mrs. Nelson is an amazing teacher who has helped to make my high school experience more fun and bearable. She is one of the few teachers I have had the honor of having that will sit down with you and listen to you problems. Not only will she listen to you, but she will talk with you about it and make you feel better. On more than one occasion I have come into ASL and feeling very sad or depressed, and I leave the class, after only an hour and a half, feeling much better. I can’t imagine our school without Mrs. Nelson in it, she makes almost everyone she teaches love her class. Out of all the teachers in our school, Mrs. Nelson is definitely a teacher who SHOULDN'T have to leave.

Mrs. Nelson has been my daughters teacher for 3 years. She has been a fantastic influence on Katharine. It would be a shame if she was not allowed to keep teaching at Guyer.

First of all Mrs. Nelson is my most favorite teacher. She'll help get through anything. She's one of the few teachers that actually teach and help students learn more. There are multiple teachers that should NOT be qualified to teach. Some teachers don't even teach they just go out to there car and smoke. Mrs. Nelson puts everything into teaching and everything into us. Get rid of one of the careless, rude, and crappy teachers, not Mrs. Nelson. If you get rid of Mrs. Nelson we will lose one of the greatest teachers at Guyer. Also she should be allowed to re take her certification test over the summer. If Mrs. Nelson goes away multiple families will be very unhappy with the decision. This amount of signatures and comments should show everyone just how much Mrs. Nelson is loved and needed.

There are multiple reasons why a school would want to dismiss a teacher, but consideration should be given for an excellent facilitator who has been instrumental in students’ lives. While it is true that school administration must hold teachers accountable for passing state certifications, here, however, is a prime example of the hypocrisy of the reassessment policy. Ms. Nelson is allowed 5 reassessments per state policies, so where is the her reassessment policy per district guidelines. Please reconsider loosing a valuable faculty member over something resolvable.

Mrs. Nelson has made all of us in ASL want to continue to be in ASL. Personally most of us would’ve stopped at the two years required but now groups of us are continuing to ASL 3&4. She’s amazing, and it’d be Guyer’s lost.
