Final supporters
Maria Johnson, the teacher of seniors, the friend of many. Unfortunately the seniors of 2014-2015 will be the last class to be able to experience her at WCS. Although there have been no clear reasoning to why she will be fired, most believe that she is being fired because many students feel she is mean. I believe Mrs. Johnson is an amazing teacher, and an even more amazing human. Personally, I have known her for years. Since my first year in highschool, she was there for me. The teachers here are fantastic, don't get me wrong. I love every one of them. But there's something different about Mrs. Johnson. Often when I'm having a rough day or just look down in the dumps, she pulls me aside and asks if everything is alright. She spends long parts of her day she could be grading papers making sure I am feeling fine. She goes above and beyond in her job.
On top of that, she has two sons who will be attending college next year, and then the second in just a few more after that. You may know that college is anything but cheap. Losing her job right now will have a large impact on this. Money isn't easy to come by, nor is finding a new job. Especially in the teaching industry.
Sign this petition to show the administration at WCS that Mrs. Johnson is worth keeping.

I am currently drafting a formal letter to the WCS administration to request a meeting regarding their decision process. We are gathering documentation from current students to present as evidence of Mrs. Johnson's impact on the school community.

The administration has acknowledged the volume of signatures and requested a formal meeting to discuss these concerns. I am currently preparing a briefing document that outlines the specific contributions Mrs. Johnson has made to our school community.

mrs Johnson is by far the best teacher I have had since elementary school. she isn't just a great teacher, but a kind hearted person. she is very genuine and sympathetic. since the beginning of the year, I have had one teacher be there for me through my entire freshman year, and that is her. she sits down with me, listens, helps, and is just there for me. I love her to death, and I'm sorry that there are students who can't handle her. they obviously won't be ready for a sarcastic joke in college for that matter. if there's one teacher who shouldn't be fired, it's her. westminster; I have lost respect for you as you made this decision.
If WCS fires Mrs. Johnson, they are truly loosing the best teacher they have. She is passionate about what she teaches and somehow keeps it interesting so that students stay engaged.
Mrs. Johnson was funny, cool, and she connected with all the students. Bring her back!

I haven't had Mrs. J yet but she's one of the few teachers I can really talk to!

Mrs. Johnson always pushed me to do my best, while other teachers accepted "meh" work from me. She's one of the last teachers I would expect to be fired.
