Scott Mulcahy is the happiest, most engaged, most popular staff member at Haynes. The children absolutely love him. He recently allowed me to start playing music at drop-off and pick-up, so kids could start and end their day on a happy note. Two weeks ago, I was lucky enough to attend a staff Karaoke session that he initiated and organized as a surprise for the children during a routine school meeting. They were so happy, singing and dancing along and having so much fun. Scott finds creative ways to bring joy into the mundane routine of school for the kids. It will be an absolutely devastating loss to staff, children and parents if he leaves Haynes. As happy as I would be for him to remain in Sudbury, first prize would be for him to STAY AT HAYNES. Please, please, please!

It is a loss to Haynes and to Sudbury to lose this great administrator. Scott brought a much needed positive energy to Haynes. The children are very attached to him! I am sorry to see him go.

Please consider keeping Scott Mulcahy within SPS. He is well known in the Haynes community for his positive interactions with students. He is a good role model for our children and encourages them to be considerate of others and be their best selves, academically as well as socially.

People are essential to a successful educational system and you need good ones to function at a high level. Sounds like you had that here. The problem is that the town just reelected an incumbent to the school board who was against raising additional funds and in public called for administrators to be let go. Jobs don't just do themselves so who will the responsibilities fall on now? People with such philosophies belong on Finance Committees and not school boards. It's quite possible that such suggestions were made because the person in question has no idea what it takes to run a successful organization or has never run one. That being said the "people" have spoken. Good luck with that. My guess is there are many more irrational thoughts and decisions to come. History tells us so.

I hope as a town we can do the right thing and find a place in our extended SPS family for an educator as truly excellent and devoted as Scott Mulcahy is. Please, please find a way to keep him within SPS, as he has been an incredible resource for our children -- friend, helper, mentor -- in the short time he has been here. I hope someone listens to all these petitions so that we can keep a person who is so selflessly devoted to our children within the Sudbury Public School system. Even better, maybe someone can go visit Haynes one day and see if there is a single child (or parent!) there who doesn't know and love Scott Mulcahy. (Spoiler alert: there won't be.)

Scott is an amazing asset to Haynes, and it would be a loss to everybody if he was let go. Scott adds a spark to the school that brings life into Haynes. Please, do not disappoint our children and let go of Mr. Mulcahy.
