As a former teacher and now an attorney, I can attest to the fact that I have rarely seen such quality in a teacher that I have observed in Mr. Albright. His influence on his students, both past and present, and the respect of his peers and the school community as a whole is unparalleled. Middle school is tough enough on our children and the lives he has certainly changed is incalculable. The costs to the school and community will be far greater than the difference in his salary you are trying to save if we lose him. He is a superstar, and you don’t trade your superstar. Please do not put yourselves in a position of regret for a decision that will cause us to lose such a valuable asset to our community.

His influence on his students, both past and present, and the respect of his peers and the school community as a whole is unparalleled. The world needs music to calm their souls. Some of our best musicians this is all they know. Please don't discontinue this subject in the school. Mr. Albright and Ms. Walker are needed.

My granddaughters all took music classes from Mr. Albright. He encourages positive behavior by rewarding students receiving good grades to go on music festivals and audition for county and state music programs.

I have worked directly with both the middle school and high school drama and music programs for about 5 years. The development and teaching from the middle school has had a direct impact on the level of talent that is becoming available to the high school. It is no different than sports in that the kids need to be developed before they get to high school to be competitive or provide a top notch performance. The fact that almost all of the leads and many of the ensemble in this years theater company musical production were juniors and sophomores who were taught by Mrs. Walker justifies the need for her to be available full time. These teachers need to have a full day to plan and give the time to the students needed to produce the results they do. We have children who want to perform and succeed at the highest level and need to have teachers help them achieve this.

Mrs. Walker and Mr. Albright were huge influences on my life. Mrs. Walker helped me come out if my she'll in middle school. She taught ne hiw to use my voice and she helped me become a leader. Mr. Albright taught me to have fun and just play music. They've been big influences on my musical career and my normal life. I've made so many friends and made so many bonds because of these two wonderful people. These two are huge assets to Southern.

Mr.Albright was my orchestra teacher in middle school and made so much difference in my life. If it wasn't for orchestra I would have probably turned out much differently than I have.
