Doesn't seem really necessary. My mother went there before me, and the think the history of families counts for a lot. I can see no reason for the changes. As tigers are becoming more and more endangered, it would seem to be a good mascot.

Seems silly to change history. Once a Morgan Tiger always a Morgan Tiger. ....seriously. ...are there not more important issues?

Keep it Morgan, Tigers, with school colors Black and Orange.

Shouldn't even be a consideration.

Tradition has value. The people of Ellensburg voted for the new construction at Morgan to be anchored in history, and the authorities need to respect that.

Four generations of my family graduated from Morgan. I finally voted yes on the last levy because Morgan was to be preserved but improved. I believe many others felt the same because the levy passed after many previous failures. To now propose changing the name, mascot and colors is a slap in the face to the community and taxpayers that approved the levy. It has also caused a breach in trust. Please let this idea go. I'm afraid future levies will fail if you proceed with these changes and then it will be the kids that suffer. I don't want to see this happen.

The colors are orange and black, not black and white and the colors of black and orange should stay the same. My parents graduated from Morgan, my brother did, I did and my children also did and my Uncle. I am also fairly sure that some of my great Aunts and Uncles and their children also attended Morgan. It needs to stay Morgan, Tigers for mascot and the same colors, orange and black. It is part of the history and one's heritage. Shame on those that were even considering changing it.

Do Not Change! No need to change, it is not broken.

When you look at how we as a community relish our downtown and the historic buildings & etc. why would we not relish the history behind our schools too? That history is also what created our community. Quit trying to "push" these kids into high school when they are still at the middle school level. Leave things as they are, maybe have a history lesson each year about the school these children are attending and remind them how important history is! Not everything needs to change here!! Then there is the cost of such a foolish change. It appears the school board is being reticent in the decisions they're considering. This IS taxpayer monies for which it needs to be spent more prudently!

Leave the name alone it's a major part of Ellensburg history. My mom, aunt, uncle along with other family members went to Morgan.

If it's not broken don't fix it. In a world today when so much is stressed about being who you are, an individual, why would we strive to be like everyone else? If you change Morgan, why not do a district overhaul. No more mount Stewart, Lincoln, or valley view. Simply Ellensburg elementary 1 2 and 3. See how silly that sounds? Seems to me a lot more than tradition is being wasted here. Would a rose by any other name smell as sweet? Re naming the school won't change a child's education. You have to switch districts for that. Which I have, quite successfully. Focus on education. Focus on having quality teachers that actually care about a child's education. Focus on academics, and compassion. Focus on the children. No matter how many times you polish a rock... It's still a rock.

The big push on this levy was "preserving history". Live up to your promise!

I care much more about the name remaining the same, but I totally respect that others care about all three staying unchanged.
