Minors are Minors so minors shouldn't be in the NSFw part of Tumblr.

The blocking function on Tumblr is weak. The staff do little to nothing to prevent minors from interacting with 18+ blogs. This is greatly endangering the bloggers, the minors, and Tumblr's continued existence.

This would alieve my fears about ubderage viewing my nsfw blog. I try to police my followers but I think better measures by Tumblr would be great.

There is no excuse for Tumblr/Yahoo's flagrant disregard for the law and the safety of the site's users, of all ages. If a site allows for the posting of pornographic material and also allows access to the site by minors it is ethically bound to create a clear and sound way to separate the two.

I am exhausted of children attempting to invade adult spaces and threatening my online safety, as well as feeling very afraid for children who are far too naive to know their limits and know when a pedophile is grooming them. This needs to happen for the safety of everyone involved.

Seriously. I'm not getting into trouble because some 13 year old thinks they're hip for following my blog that's flagged for adult content for a reason. I shouldn't have to go through hundreds to thousands of followers to make sure they're all of age, when most don't even put their ages up publicly.
I think this is a lovely idea! This is a lot like A03 and LJ's feature and Tumblr has been needing it with all the drama that's stirred up. The only negative I can think of, something I know for a fact since I did it to get around LJ's and other adult ff sites, minors can lie about their age. I was 23 to the online community for twelve years until I actually turned 23 last year. But even with that, that's on the minors ass for lying and they would get in trouble, not you.
