As a retired nurse I would hope a nursing conference would choose the most effective and knowledgable speakers rather than bow to mob pressure

I’m disgusted by the fascists of the cancel culture campaign. I’m all for individual rights, and that includes the right to state an opinion as well as for gay rights and trans rights. People should use rational debate, not smear the other person with lies and half quotes taken out of context.

Milli Hill represents the best of midwifery understanding. She is principled, expressive, and deeply intelligent and to include her on your conference roster gives your audience a chance to expand and learn, the way I *always* learn from her!

Women give birth, this is biological reality. A midwife who speaks about this reality should be heard.

Free speech and hearing a range of ideas/voices are how we learn and grow. If you’re right, hearing from someone who disagrees with you won’t harm you. But what if you’re wrong?

These midwives do not speak for wahine maori. They bring the mana of all midwives into disrepute.

This attack on Milli Hill represents a broader Stalinist suppression of truth. For a professional body allegedly committed to the welfare of women to support and endorse it would be disgraceful.

Women are not 'pregnant or birthing people'. Milli Hill is an important voice in centering the experiences and rights of women in pre, peri and post-natal care and is right that obscuring web-based language causes harm. She has helped innumerable women through her books including me.

No man can have a baby let adult human females speak about childbirth
