These two were there when all the way through my elementary school years, and now I'm about to graduate from the university of Alabama in one month! These two along with Mr. Anthony made Mathews Elementary and I can't imagine it without them.

Please don't remove them. Let them stay in Matthews Elementary School where they are really appreciated for the kids, parents, and teachers.

How can you consider getting rid of someone after 30 years dedication and service to our students and teachers?

As a student who went to Mathews and a girl whose mom works there, it wouldn't be Mathews without them! For so many years, they have always been there. They aren't just apart of the Mathews family, they are at the center of it. I would be really hard for me to come and visit and not have them there. They are 2 of the kindest men I have met and isn't that what you need in an elementary school? In an elementary, especially, you want the kids to feel safe and welcome with staff they know and love. I don't know of one person who doesn't love Mr. Cleo and Mr. Brown. As a former student, I really hurts me to see the school board try to do this.

Mr. Brown and Mr. Cleo are one of a kind. When I was displaced to Mathews as a parapro they welcomed me and did everything they could to make my transition an easy one. They are truly wonderful and an integral part of the Mathews family. They are loved by everyone at Mathews and they take pride in their work. Please let then remain at Mathews.

Our custodians are simply the best - and I can't imagine our school without them. They do so much more than just keep a clean and safe environment for our students and faculty. They are family.

These two are as important to the well being of the kids at Mathews as anyone at the school. Let's leave the pockets of GREAT employees alone, as the fruit basket turnover begins! They have done their jobs well for so many years.

These guys where the heart and soul of Mathews. My wife was a teacher there and I know how much they helped her and they protected the kids and teachers. They performed above and beyond their job description every day and were the most valuable members of the staff.

Mr. Brown and Mr. Cleo are an integral part of the Mathews family. That's easily evident in the many messages from former students, parents, grandparents and staff. As a former student I can attest that their passion for the students goes well beyond their job title. They taught us what true work ethic is and how kindness goes farther than you can imagine. Please continue to allow them to be a part of the family.

Please board! All three of my children went to Matthews, the oldest now 37. I remember both these wonderful men and they where always smiling, singing and making the children smile! Here are people that work hard and honorable, and you want to take their job!!! Not nice! Why don't you budget cut the people who don't work or care about their job!!! Don't take caring people from our children!!

Mr. Cleo, Mr. Brown and even Mr. Anthony were part of the kind group of custodians that I remember when I attended Matthews from 1st through 5th grade (2002-2007). Every staff member, especially them helped contribute to the man I have become. Please keep the family in tact so they can touch the lives of more students to come.

Wonderful men. All my children were always saying how happy they made them. They knew me and my children's names.
