The Marlington Board of Education finally caved and voted to keep Marlboro Elementary open. We forced them to admit their plan was a disaster and they had no choice but to back down. Stay vigilant because we are still watching their next moves.

Whether you are for a new, consolidated elementary school or still want to keep the traditional feel of our three township schools, the Marlington Board of Education needs to know we want to keep Marlboro Elementary School OPEN until a real and transparent plan for our district is provided to the community!

The Marlington Board of Education thinks they can ignore us if they stay quiet long enough. We are climbing toward 250 signatures and we need to hit that mark right now to show them they cannot brush this community aside. Post this link to your social media feeds and force them to look at our demands.

6428 Pinedale Street NE. I do not see how the district intends to squeeze an entire elementary school into 2 already fairly full schools. Concern for lower number of families moving into Marlboro due to elementary school distance and large class size.
6428 Pinedale St Ne. Furthest corner of district. Marlboro closing will make extreme bus rides and drop in property value that will be unrecoverable. Come up with contingencies please.
As a proud graduate of Marlboro Grade School and Marlington High School, parent and grandparent of graduates and current students of the same, I believe that closing Marlboro Grade School is not prudent and is a slap in the face of families in our local school system.
Marlboro is the only building of the 3 elementary schools to have both a cafeteria & a gymnasium. It is the newest of the 3 buildings. Makes no sense to close this down. Our community enjoys the sense of our children being close not miles away.
The board is looking at the income from the pending lease/sale of the building to the Chapel In Marlboro rather than the needs of the community. Let’s help them get their priorities straight. Families first!

Marlboro Elementary is a part of many of our lives growing up in our community. I went to school there ( MHS alumni 1973) My 3 children went to grade school there. It is a part of who we are. Marlboro as a community would never be the same if there was no Marlboro Elementary . Keep our history and our roots, so we can continue to pass these along to future generations.

Nexus money is coming soon to Marlington Local. Published articles are indicating up to $3 million in additional tax revenues annually. Start fixing up the buildings instead of letting them fall apart. What’s in the permanent improvement account?
