Keep Liberty Heights Basketball Court

Many families and individuals have become aware of the current petition going around to rid of the Basketball Court in Liberty Heights Park. It has just been refurbished and built by the city, however due to some people littering, using foul language, attempting to start fights and drug use, a few members of the neighborhood had come together, wanting removal of this popular feature of our neighborhood park.
As someone who is active within the community, I see many alternative solutions instead of taking down the court. People willing to donate their time to take action by picking up trash in the park and monitoring would be one, as well as making a petition to move the sub-police station to Liberty Heights. Asking for more patrol of the police officers.
The picture of the court has been painted to be a vile, disgusting rune to be in; however, as someone who lives across from the park, I cannot begin to count how many young children go their to genuinely have fun with the sport, even some with their parents. There will always be people doing bad things, however this shouldn't be a reason to rid of a newly built court.
Sign the petition to show your support for our families, youth, and teens wishing to exercise their body with this sport. Sign if you believe there is an alternative solution to this.
