Keep LearningEdge Open - Garfield Park Waiver in lieu of limited Playground Space

Please keep the LearningEdge open! There is almost NO other afterschool as good as LearningEdge in South Pasadena. My kids have been in several afterschools in South Pasadena. Only LearningEdge can give my kids the proper supervision to finish the homework on time. The shut down of LearningEdge will be a disaster to many families that both parents have to work.

Parent of Aleeyah Zhang - Learning Edge has been invaluable for our family for the last year. They provide by far the highest level care and attention to children that I’ve seen. They have fantastic upkeep, and in turn has taught the kids to clean up after themselves. Most after school care we’ve been to simply allow kids to roam the yard, no homework help, no simulating exercises or inspirations. Learning Edge has been opposite of that and has been a life-saver.

After school care in south pasadena is scarce. There are waiting list for nearly every after school care that devices the area. Closing down learning edge would not only further exacerbate this issue, it would disrupt numerous families who rely on learning edge to watch their children so they can work. Please consider the children and parents which will be affected by this decision.

We have registered him for this upcoming school year as well and rely on Learning Edge to pick him up from school and take care of him until we are finished with the workday. It is a unique program that gives children the confidence they need to succeed in school.

Not only all teachers help students with their academic needs, all worker are very kind and really try their best to let students feel the supports while most parents are full time workers. We have been a resident of South Pasadena for almost 15 years. Our two children have been a part of the Learning Edge family since 2015. For the last 4 years we have seen our children grow and develop into confident young scholars because of the academic support and enrichment that Learning Edge provides. We are asking that Learning Edge stays open while they obtain the necessary licenses - especially when the new school year is starting next week.
