Keep Leadership Alive in Moravian Academy

We, the undersigned members of the student body, come together to challenge the recent decision by school administrators that unfairly impacts student leaders and undermines our contributions to the school community. The newly imposed restrictions not only hinder our ability to lead but also have far-reaching consequences on our future college applications, discredit our past work, and disproportionately affect juniors.
The limitations placed on student leaders, such as school co-presidents, have serious implications for our college applications. By depriving us of the opportunity to lead clubs, maintain student ambassadorship roles, and serve as pride mentors, the administration is effectively diminishing our extracurricular achievements and leadership experience. This unjust action threatens to tarnish the years of dedication and hard work we have invested in building our resumes and preparing for higher education.
Furthermore, the restrictions discredit the valuable contributions we have made to the school community. As student leaders, we have invested countless hours in organizing events, fostering inclusivity, and advocating for positive change. However, the administration’s decision dismisses our past work and diminishes the significance of our leadership roles, undermining our sense of accomplishment and recognition within the school.
Moreover, these restrictions disproportionately affect juniors, who are crucial members of the student body and should not be unfairly penalized. Junior year is a pivotal time for students to explore leadership opportunities, develop valuable skills, and demonstrate their commitment to the school community. By limiting their ability to participate in leadership positions, the administration is depriving juniors of the chance to fully engage in student life and prepare for their future endeavors.
We refuse to accept these unjust restrictions that hinder our ability to thrive as student leaders and negatively impact our college applications, discredit our past work, and unfairly disadvantage juniors. We demand that school administrators reconsider their decision and collaborate with students to develop policies that respect and empower student leaders of all grade levels.
Join us in signing this petition to demonstrate our collective opposition to the unfair restrictions on student leadership roles. Together, we can advocate for a more equitable and inclusive school environment where all students have the opportunity to lead, excel, and succeed.
