We, the parents, guardians and staff of Jefferson Elementary School petition the city, namely the Chief of Police, to keep Larry Morland as Crossing Guard to Jefferson Elementary School.

The children and parents of Jefferson Elementary School rely on and trust Larry Morland to keep the children safe as they come and go from school. To the children, Larry symbolizes safety. A rapport and trust has been built throughout the school year, that to remove him at this time would cause an upset and sense of insecurity to the children and parents. He takes seriously his job to protect and care for our children and we request that he remain at Jefferson Elementary School. Larry knows our children’s and parent’s faces. He would be one of the first to see and recognize trouble once our children leave the school. We need him back. We have faith that our city will answer our request.
