Karen Hayes has not talked about this that I know of, It was a teacher at MMS both Friday and today told his classes she had been fired. He broke the confidentiality agreement. She has been a wonderful Principal and always had an open door policy for parents and students and cared deeply for them. That's what I can speak of.

Mrs Frederick, Mrs Ressler, and Mrs Harcarik, You have all raised exceptional children who were/are great students. I have had at least one of your children as my students and can say that they made my day, oftentimes when I was struggling with serious stress. I made sure they had the best experience at MMS despite the enormous amount of pressure and harassment that was placed on me by MMS Admin. I did not get the smiles your children got. My conversations behind those doors were not positive ones like your children received. The emails I received were not pleasant and I did not get the same support that children did. As teachers, we do the best we can to put aside the stress that is going on inside to ensure that your children are safe and that they taught what they need to know. MMS Admin did not work with your children on a daily basis...the teachers did. I just wish you knew the pain that many of us teachers have suffered under MMS leadership. If you did, you would understand why this decision is being made. I know we all are entitled to our opinions and I respect you all as parents. Someday I hope to have the opportunity to tell you our side of this story. PS - We as teachers have not been told anything about what is going on, we have heard a lot of things but we have never been spoken to nor formerly addressed in regards to this situation.

How can a teacher have broken a "confidentiality agreement" if no one, including the staff or general public, been informed as to what is really going on? Supporting someone is always important, but if this is true. and someone has been removed from a position like this, there has to be a justifiable reason. What if a law has been broken and you are blindly supporting this person not knowing the full story?

Supporting teachers can now work side by side with KH...how awesome. You can lesson plan together and attend PLC meetings. She will be TVEA member and can help with our bargaining unit...we all know teaching is not about the money so I am sure she will take this awesome and very fortunate opportunity that has been extended to her. I am sure every TVUSD Administrator would love to hire her. She often talks about her wonderful teaching experiences and she can now glean from Schmoker, an author of a book she made us read as homework for our staff meetings...we even had to take a test and complete worksheets she created for us. Great use of site funds and staff time. I commend TVUSD and the Board members for allowing her to end her career like it started...in the classroom. How can she pass up this wonderful opportunity?

Your condescension is never ending! She made you read and do homework??? You don't seem to mind assigning it to your students. Are you too good to learn more? Does learning end when you become an esteemed member of the tenured teacher club? Then you just let your bargaining unit whine at the district. Not doing it for the money??? Temecula Teachers average $85,000 AND get over 3 months off a year. Don't tell me how you work evenings and weekends... I don't know a job out there that doesn't require that in this day and age. Reading your comments make me sad that our children must sit in your class daily.

Oh Gooodness! No more bargaining unit! I am DONE supporting the Temecula Teachers' Union. I see too many BAD, unproductive teachers taking up valuable classroom space and tax dollars.

Teachers' Union and a school board with no backbone

I was in the classroom for 10 years and still hold my California Teaching Credential. I've been there done that and left when I was disgusted with what the Teachers Union was doing to the profession. I saw lazy teachers whine at the union that they had to go to training on weekends or God Forbid the TABU summer break. I saw dangerous teachers kept in classrooms because the union fought to keep them endangering children. I know a lot of amazing teachers. They tend not to have difficulties with principals because they are hard working, continue to hone their craft, and put kids first. God Bless Those Heroes! However we are not talking about those teachers... Are we?
