Requiring equestrians to dismount and remove manure is not a reasonable requirement. Multi-use trails should be preserved for all types of recreation, including horse people!

Horse manure is far from being the most pollutant thing you can find on trails!
Let’s go after plastic! That’s definitely not going to disappear after a few days.
Thanks

We love our horses, but they are not pets! They are working, performance, and pleasure animals. Equestrians build, maintain, and keep a watchful eye when out on trails. We need a places to ride that are safe and open. We are taxpayers, volunteers, and put $$$ into the economy to care for, and enjoy our horses.

The education of all trail users on appropriate trail protocol is working extremely effectively.

It is difficult enough to find good day trails to ride on as it is, please don’t make it any worse by allowing these rules to pass! I moved to this beautiful state to enjoy riding my horse on the many trails we have

As an equestrian who uses trails around the state to condition and train horses, and just enjoy the experience of being outdoors with my animals, there are already so few locations that are designated riding trails. The logistics of dismounting to scoop and carry a random poop incident and remounting, considering the height of most of our horses, would effectively render the trails unusable by equestrians such as us. We bring tourist dollars into these areas just like any other tourist group. We purchase food, gas, lodging, etc. please don’t exclude us from even more locations by passing this legislation. Instead, put improved signage up to allow education on all sides of this issue. Mixed use trails are a choice for walkers and bikers but equestrians don’t have that option. There are very few horse only trails out there. Let’s not make that number even smaller

Please do not reclassify horses as pets. They are not dogs and horse owners do not wish them to be taken out of livestock!

Requiring a rider to dismount and bag up manure is simply not feasable or safe. How would therefore carry the plastic bag full of manure? Discounting and mounting would be difficult for some, and since horses poop fairly often, getting on and off would be a huge problem.

This proposal is idiotic. Horses are NOT PETS. If they were, millions of little girls around the country would be packing their backyards with them. They are LIVESTOCK - FARM ANIMALS. Look up the definition please. Otherwise, will the owners of cattle who graze on open range (often on land we’ve ridden on trails through) be required to pick up after them as well??

Cleaning up where one parks their trailer is reasonable. I do support all dogs on lease having been chased & 2 horses bitten in the past at other sites. This proposal smacks of Bicycle interference.

I believe cleaning up the trail head is not out of the question but dogs on a lease is dangerous to the rider.

This is ridicules in so many ways. Don't the politicians of Jefferson county have better things to do with there time. And to think there paid for this kind of stuff. I am very much against this . Horses are not pets they are livestock. We use these trails and help to keep and maintain them. Leave the horses and horse riders alone. Please thank you
