Horses are prey animals and are livestock. They eat plants. Dogs are predators and are pets. They eat meat. Apples and Oranges.

I hope horses should be kept underneath the “livestock” group. They aren’t necessarily pets because they are meant to work and aren’t really just for looks.

Horses are work animals, thus livestock. They are vegetarian so their waste breaks down and goes back into the environment, like deer, moose, etc. bagging horse poop is ludicrous.

A little horse sense and input from local horse groups whose members actually use the trails would be fair and appropriate.

C'mon Jefferson County...this is ludicrous. A horse is not a pet.

Horses are not carnivores and their manure will erode naturally and feed the area around it.

It is impossible to remount a horse in many locations. Requiring a rider to dismount is not a realistic solution.

Equestrians contribute to every county by purchasing, trucks, trailers, hay, tack, etc..... a lot more than hikers, bikers and others.

Horse poop rapidly breaks down and is a nonissue re biohazard. Requiring poop to be picked up on trail is as stupid as demanding exhaust from cars be captured, and exhaust is killing our planet. Get some perspective!

Ridiculous that this is even being considered.

These are historically horse trails and horses are not pets they are livestock. It is easy to all share the trails.

Horse groups sweat to keep trails open to horses and hikers, equistrians need to have a say in how things are managed. Manure is a recyclable resource!! It's batter to have green stuff dispersed than to leave dog poop in little black bags along a trail, leaving it for others to see and pick up. Manure is mulched grass
