Sign our petition and spread the word if you want to keep jazz music on the air in the form of Jazz 102.1 FM, WCRX-LP and keep Sax Johnson and his team as its management and on-air personalities.

Jazz 102.1 FM, WCRX-LP is a community low power radio station and is Columbus' only jazz radio station. The license for Jazz 102.1 FM, WCRX-LP, is owned by Bexley Public Radio Foundation (BPRF), a private foundation that has no affiliation with the City of Bexley. It's founder, Kurt Weiland, who is also its Treasurer and a BPRF Board Member, wishes to eliminate jazz music programming, take back control of its daily management and programming and return it to a talk show format to serve the Bexley community. WCRX-LP was originally an obscure talk radio station with very few listeners until Sax Johnson was appointed the Station Manager in January 2012. Sax Johnson and his group of volunteer staff members changed the station's format to jazz music. Sax Johnson and his team have greatly improved the broadcast quality, automated the playlist and programming, branded the station as a jazz station, built and maintain a recognizable website and social media presence providing support to Columbus' local musicians, events and venues, and increased the listenership by the thousands.
