Dear Councilmember Palmer

I am writing you to express mywholehearted support for People United for Armstrong Parkfor Armstrong Park and their free weekly community event, Jazz in the Park. Their volunteer-runorganization is making tremendous contributions to park, the Treme, and thecity’s cultural economy. In support of their important community and culturaldevelopment initiatives, I urge you to provide them the use of Armstrong Park for Jazz in the Park events with no Park Rental or Live Entertainment fees.

Please help ensure that Jazz in the Park can continue as a free event andArmstrong Park can continue to be a beacon of light for our community and thewhole city.

Thank you for your continuedsupport of vital community organizations and your work to preserve and promote ourcity’s rich cultural heritage.

ALL PARKS SHOULD BE FREE! This park is vital to New Orleans heritage, much of which has already been destroyed, help us protect our culture.

LEAVE JAZZ IN THE PARK ALONE. Palmer needs to find money somewhere else not from our community events.

My kids love going here every week. It is the only thing we have that is free and fun and brings the neighborhood together.

STOP TRYING TO CHARGE FOR EVERYTHING. We need spaces that are actually accessible to everyone regardless of money.
