Having taken up Japanese myself and helped establish at my old high school, opening so many 16 and 18 year olds to this experience, it would be very unfortunate for Japanese A level to be dropped. VERY short-sighted.

Cutting off the expense for education is the worst choice for a country. To be a great country, I believe that manpower is the most important budget. The UK seems to go towards collapse.

I agree to all the points of this petition and would like to add that any additional language you offer s a gateway to another culture and a different way of thinking. I this age of globalisation it is important to have an understanding of more than European languages and culture.
