There are so many parks in Orleans for recreation. Dog owners have so few places to let their dogs run off leash. We need to work together to keep Heritage park off-leash for dogs.

Dogs need a place to run and play. Nobody wants them to run in our street , give them a place !

If you eliminate this off-leash dog park then at the very least it should be replaced with a another off-leash dog park of equal value and size (including walking path in forest). Allowing a dog to burn energy helps with discipline, control, and overall bonding with your pet. There are many dog owners in Orleans. Where else will they go if you remove official off-leash parks? Exactly...

This park is part of the reason we baught our home in this location. We have two dogs that love this park. Keep it off leash!

There is nothing like seeing dogs playing and running together in an off-leash park. It is one of Ottawa's greatest perks ---please don't take it away from them.

I am a pensioner with mobility impairments. I use my cane and am ABLE to let my little dog run freely at Heritage Park. I go at least 4-5 times a week and meet other women who also walk their small dogs. Closing the park would be DEVASTATING for me and many others who rely on being able to use an OFF LEASH park. We all watch our dogs and we pick up after them. The Baseball parents don't use the wooded path. The issue has to do with baseball parents being scared of loose dogs near the seating for onlookers. The parents bring chairs and get uptight because there are loose dogs. However the parents are not sitting in the safe designated area. The issue regarding this park has nothing to do with the dogs poops not being pick up. It has to do with a few parents who appear afraid of the little dogs and some big ones who they believe encroach on their seated area. But these scared parents are taking their own chairs and setting up right beside the dog disposal bins! I use this park YEAR ROUND and I pay taxes too. The naysayers use the park for 60 days! Please please do not close down the only park I can safely use in my area. I need access to a leash Free park for my well behaved dogs; I've only got one free hand to hold a leash as I must use a cane. My health and that of Many others is at stake. In the 60 days of summer we all like to go to Heratige Park when it's cooler in the late afternoon early evening. If a dog owner cannot recall their dog they should leash their dog at least until they are put of parking lot. Always a good idea anyways. I am a real person who really enjoys and uses this park DAILY. Please do not let a few baseball spectators who use park perhaps once weekly in the summer take away our one wonderful source of recreation. Thank you for reading this.

Shutting down dog parks is absolutely the wrong idea. It is so important to have dog friendly areas. Pets are like family and should be treated with respect!

As a dog owner we don't have very much in orleans were are dogs can get out and enjoy and run free while getting amazing exercise which they need please don't change to on leash
