Please don’t lose this talent for North Lincoln HS. All of Hannah’s accomplishments have got to add to a higher rating for the school. She is one of the reasons we chose to live within this school district. I have never encountered a teacher that is more dedicated to her profession and to the students.

Hannah has been my teacher for three and half years of highschool and has pushed me to be the best version of myself I can be. She's taught me how to conduct myself in professional settings, how to have self confidence in a room full of people who are competing for the same thing, how to stand out and not become a number in the system. She's taught me how to be a better person and has set me up with several skills that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I cannot imagine my life without her affect on it, and genuinely miss her every day she's not in our school teaching.

Ms. Pratt believed in my daughter before she believed in herself. She sees the potential in all of her students and champions them to become the very best version of themselves. She sets a level of excellence in her classroom and helps her students achieve it! As a parent, I can't ask for more. As school and county leaders, Ms. Pratt is exactly the kind of teacher you should want in a classroom. Please listen to the voices of the parents and students and put Ms. Pratt back in her classroom.

As a North Lincoln Theatre Alum, and someone who has personally known Hannah Pratt as a friend, colleague, and educator, I can unequivocally say that she is the best possible person that NLHS could have running the theatre department. What she has done for the theatre program is nothing short of a miracle, and the opportunities her leadership has brought for these kids is monumental, specifically in regards to the Blumey Awards for High School Musical Theatre Excellence. For those unaware, the Blumey Awards is a regional program for the Carolinas to reward excellence in achievement for High School Theatre. It is highly competitive, and has been a major stepping stone for some of the biggest names working on Broadway, like Eva Noblezada, and Renee Rapp. Since Ms. Pratt has taken over the Theatre Dept, North Lincoln has become a major contender and frequent WINNER at these awards, competing against magnet schools, charter schools, and programs with 3x the budget and faculty. I can speak personally as a North Lincoln Alumni, who has performed in these awards, and is now a professional actor living in New York City, that the opportunities that these accolades open up for young aspiring actors is life changing. North Lincoln has become a breeding ground for talent thanks in great part to Ms.Pratt. Losing her leadership would come at a serious detriment to the future of the many students who could pursue a successful career in the arts. These kids deserve better than to have their futures caught in the crosshairs of an ideologues personal vendetta. I implore anyone who’s invested in seeing the arts and young artists of North Lincoln High to make some noise and get Ms. Pratt back home in the Theatre Room at North Lincoln.

Hannah was able to help my child form his family during his time at NLHS with the theatre program and drama club. During his high school experience all of the spring musicals have not only made it to the Blumey awards but won best musical over magnet and performing arts school that had professionals coming in to help the production. She was able to accomplish this with a budget and staff of public high school students. Finding someone to replace her will be impossible.

When we talk about education, we often talk about test scores, graduation rates, attendance, and budgets. And yes, those things matter. But if we are truly talking about educating the whole child, then we must talk about the spaces where students discover their confidence, their voice, their discipline, their courage, and their purpose.
That is what theatre does.
And that is what Hannah Pratt has done at North Lincoln High School.
For five years, Hannah Pratt has not simply taught theatre. She has built a home. She has taken a program that was struggling and transformed it into a thriving, award-winning theatre arts program that now stands proudly among some of the strongest arts programs in the surrounding area. That kind of growth does not happen by accident. It happens because of leadership. It happens because of passion. It happens because one teacher decided that her students were worth the time, the fight, the long hours, the late nights, the encouragement, the structure, and the belief.
Theatre arts are not “extra.” They are essential.
In theatre, students learn how to speak with confidence. They learn how to collaborate, how to listen, how to problem-solve, how to take responsibility, how to meet deadlines, how to handle pressure, and how to stand in front of a room and be brave. They learn empathy by stepping into someone else’s story. They learn resilience when a scene does not work the first time. They learn leadership backstage, onstage, in rehearsal, in tech, in design, and in performance.
These are not just theatre skills. These are life skills.
A strong theatre teacher does more than direct plays. A strong theatre teacher sees the student who feels invisible. They hear the student who does not know how to speak up yet. They give the shy student a reason to try. They give the overwhelmed student a place to belong. They give the talented student a reason to push further. They give every student a reminder that their voice matters.

Hannah Pratt absolutely deserves to continue to teach at North Lincoln. It would be a disservice to not only the school and Hannah herself, but to those sweet kids who have grown and had an amazing theatre program at their school all because of Hannah. These kids wouldn’t have had half the opportunities they did if not for Hannah Pratt.

I am a proud member of the NLHS drama club. We would not be as successful as we are without our drama club teacher, Ms Pratt. She is the main reason why we have the opportunity to go to the Blumeys and get all of these awards for our school and she is a good person. Please reinstate Hannah Pratt!
