This character (and his relationship with Mary) is the primary source of interest for me. If the show loses Francis I'll most likely lose interest.

I think Francis is one of the best characters in the show. He is well rounded, fair and a great ruler, and after all he has been through, he deserves some happiness before dying and I think that since the show would be better off without love triangles, keeping him alive could represent a chance to explore Francis and Mary's relationship as a married couple in love /and/ a great team of rulers, considering Francis will have to fight against helping Mary -who hasn't been always by his side- and helping his mother -who made a lot mistakes but always put him first. Therefore, I think his character has still a lot to say and could be a great main character and if the history can be remodelled, then his death can happen a little later, right?

I just believe the show wouldn't be the same, the marriage and relationship to Frary is 100% important..especially to the fans because their love is undeniable. A show without Francis would be a loss to me since he's the main reason I watch the show. I would be sad if he died and the show wouldn't be great anymore. :(
