Hi Last Corpus Christi 5/28 & 5/29 weekend we collected a total of about 500 letters in support of father al about 150 form St mary Magdalen and 350 from Holy Spirit. That is significant and we want to present it to the Vicar of CLergy cc Bishop Clark/Gomez on Tuesday in person if we get an appointment. Thank you.

I used to be a member of Cathedral Chapel parish but attending a mass that Father Al officiated convinced me to switch parishes. His homilies are thought provoking. He translates the gospel to everyday life.

Father Al has been such a blessing at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. I have learned so much from Father Al and have been so richly blessed by his actions, prayers, homilies, and masses.

I use to go to church just for going every Sunday. I did not get involve, father created an environment to encourage the parishioners to get involve with the church as a community. He enthusiasm is contagious. He created so many avenues for us to know our Faith. He is very honest. his homily cleared and defined and real with everyday life. We are a growing church. He initiated so many projects for SMM. Let him make us strong and vibrant. God bless us all. Dieula Dunn

I searched for a church to call my own for over 3 years, yet nothing ever felt right. I attended a 10:00am mass at Holy Spirit and was amazed to see Father Al giving a sermon in Spanish. I was immediately intrigued. I love the way he gives his sermons, with so much passion, fervor, love and excitement. It has been almost 3 years and I haven't left.
Father Al was the reason I decided to make this church my home. God had guided me here to him. Because of him I was able to renew my faith, and love it once again. His enthusiasm is contagious and it transfers to anyone that comes in contact with him. Father Al is a great gift from God and I would love to be able to keep growing and learning about my faith with him by my side. May God Bless everyone!!

Fr. Al was instrumental in making me feel welcome when i first joined the church and the community after relocating to la for a new job. Since then the church has become my family because of his efforts and I've been more involved as a result of his encouragement. He is the glue keeping the church together and we all enjoy his sermons.

Father Al is a great pastor and leader with a great vision for God's church. His humble personality and strong leadership skills make him a great pastor for our parishes, which are in great need both spiritually and financially. He has worked tirelessly in these two parishes. He unites communities from different ethnic backgrounds as he promotes equality in our community by making liturgical celebrations bilingual. He has definitely exceeded the expectations of an administrator; moreover, he has acted as a pastor to our parishes even though he was never officially appointed that title. Please keep Fr. Al at Holy Spirit & St. Mary Magdalen Church. May our prayers be heard!

Father Al has been a great blessing for both our parishes. I will always remember what he said in his first meeting with the parish leaders, "we will seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and everything else will be given to us." He's done exactly that and it has worked 100% as our parishes are doing a lot better in many aspects. We have been able to meet and even exceed our Together In Mission goal (something unseen in quiet a while). We now have a Parish Council, a Finance Council and a Liturgy committee in both parishes which we didn't have for at least 10 years before he arrived (I have no idea how we were able to survive without them) The Youth Ministry is up and going with his incredible support. He has personally given workshops for new youth leaders to help them become better disciples of Christ. We have a new outreach team which includes the food pantry team and we also have a new Security Ministry. Most importantly, parishioners are excited about these changes and are ready to continue working towards building strong and beautiful parishes.
Overall, our parishes have a better structure and it's all due to father Al's hard work and dedication to ministering to the people of God. We have been waiting for so long to have a shepherd that could lead us to these kinds of changes. Now that we have him, we really want to keep him so he can continue leading us to becoming the best version of Holy Spirit and St Mary Magdalene Churches.
Please keep Father Al in our community.
