We can't let this happen to our community. We need to protect the beauty that God gave to us and yet so much has been taken away. I have lived here for 67 years.
This development proposal is outrageous. Cleverly limited to 299 units thereby not subject to the HCC review which would occur at 300 units!
If this development is allowed to go forward, it will add further stress to an already overstressed infrastructure. It will necessitate major upgrades in the future. Will the developer pay for this? I think not. It will come out of our pockets as taxpayers.
One of the main reasons we moved to Etowah was the beautiful rural areas and slower pace. I have lived in an area on the west coast in Oregon that was a beautiful rural area and a developement very similar to this moved in and yes.....it ruined the feel and brought in a different type of people. Rentals do not take pride in their communities in the same way.
Parts of New York City once looked like Etowah, This was in the last 60 years. We did not come here to endure urban sprawl. If this is what you want, please move there.
IMPORTANT! Henderson County Commissioners Meeting Monday, November 6 at 5:30 PM at 1 Historic Courthouse, Main Street, Hendersonville. A Moratorium on all residential developments will be discussed. Public input welcome!

We have contacted ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX affiliates and asked that they attend the Thursday meeting and cover the plight of Etowah and Horseshoe residents. Bringing many neighbors Thursday as well. We moved to Etowah from Europe specifically for its rural quality and we won't tolerate a Disneyland in our backyard. Come to the meeting Thursday - There is power in numbers.
