Keep Dr David Overgaard at Canyon Heights Elementary

He's been refreshing for the school, and another transition would be of no benefit for the students. Please keep him at our school.

This is long overdue

My children have responded positively to Mr. O and I really think having a consistent presence throughout the school year is better for our kids.

In favour of keeping Dr O at Canyon Heights

I hope that Dr. O can stay at Canyon Heights for the remainder of this school year. He has made such a positive impact on our school since his arrival in September. We would really love to see him stay on until the end of this school year.

Dr. O has had a very positive impact on Canyon Heights since his arrival. Bringing in a new principal at this point in the year will cause a great deal of unnecessary disruption, and our school has already had a significant amount of disruption since September with both the principal and vice principal away. The best scenario for our children is to have Dr. Overguard stay on as principal to provide stability for our school this year.

I sincerely hope that Dr. O will remain at Canyon Heights until the end of the 2018/19 school year. It's incredible how much of a positive impact he has made on students and parents in the past few months.

Please consider the best interests of the students and keep Dr. Overgaard at Canyon heights at least until the end of the school year. It is highly unusual to lose both the principal and vice principal at the same time especially with short notice and our students deserve some stability for the 2018/2019 school year. He has been an invaluable asset to our school who I believe has not viewed his placement to be temporary. Please provide him the opportunity to complete what he has set out to accomplish for the year.

I definitely would like Dr. Overgaard to stay at our school as an acting principal.

I fully support to have Dr David Overgaard stay on as principal at Canyon Heights until end June 2019 - he has come to our school during a difficult situation and turned it into an amazing positive environment for the staff and students and has been welcoming to parents for feedback and made everyone feel part of the school community. I have witnessed several instances in these past 3 months how he has engaged, shown compassion, been kind and in the many ways he has taken the opportunity to connect with students and parents. He has also taken extra time and gotten to know the staff and there is a great team environment he has built with them. He has done many kind surprises for them and let’s them know how much he appreciates them as educators. He has taken it upon himself to start new initiatives at the school when he didn’t necessarily need to - for example the Canyon Heights School Mission which included feedback from staff, parents and students. He has a few other great things planned before the Christmas break and I as a parent and PAC executive am very happy about them. I feel that if a new principal comes in now, we as a whole school community will have to adjust again and it will be very disruptive for the students who have built a strong bond with him. Our school community is a very close knit one and we appreciate and value him for his efforts and request that he be allowed to stay on until the end of this school year. You can tell everyday when you walk into the school by his welcoming smile and hello, how much he values everyone and thay he really loves being there! That’s what being an amazing school leader is all about!

I'm so hopeful that Dr Overgaard can stay at Canyon Heights. He's brought new life and positivity back into the school and it would be a shame to put the students through another transition when he fits in so well.

Please keep our principal Dr David Overguard at our school. He is so talented, kind, respectable, responsible and children like him so much. Thanks

Our kids need the consistency. He is a wonderful principle who has established meaningful relationships with parents and kids. We hope he can stay.

Please keep Dr David at our school, he’s had an invaluable impact on our administration and our children.

Pls have Dr. O stay on as acting principal. He has been very influential thus far and we feel it would be very challenging to restart the process with another acting principal for not only the children, teachers and parents.

Dr. David Overgaard has been a great interim principal - very engaged with students and staff - and adjusting to a new principal halfway through the year would be difficult for our school community. Please keep Dr. Overgaard in his current position for the entire school year.

I am on the PAC executive team at Canyon Heights. My interactions with David has led me to believe he is an invaluable asset to the CH family.
