She was the best thing to happen to the program in my time there. I have since graduated with pieces of wisdom for not only photography but life in general from this amazing educator. She encouraged us while being critical and pushing us to the potential she saw in us and beyond. Most importantly, she was never above us. We were treated like photographers with things to learn, but also things to contribute, rather than just a bunch of students to talk down to. If Edinboro Univeristy plans to keep the photography program, Denise Kiem should be there. My education would not be the same without her knowledgeable guidance.

Denise is an amazing professor. She is passionate about photography and her students. She has inspired me to pursue a career in photojournalism and continue my studies abroad. She has always been very helpful and willing to stay after class to help.

In a school with a growing art department, this is unacceptable. From what I've been told it was already hard to get some basic classes because of how few were being offered but this doesn't help! If the school makes it so difficult to take core classes it just keeps them here longer.

The reason why I came to Edinboro was for it's fins arts program and more importantly the inclusion of photography as an art form. Any cut to this department is a blow to the students and alumnus.
