We are a group of Llandudno Primary School parents who are devastated at learning that Courtenay Snyman will no longer be providing aftercare at Llandudno Primary.
To many, Courtenay is integral to the heart and soul of the school. She has built close bonds with our children over the years, and as parents, we trust her implicitly.
Our children have been using her aftercare services, holiday club, tuck shop and daily lunches for a number of years and we are confident in her abilities. We are here to vouch for her dedication to not only our children, but the school as a whole.
Courtenay is passionate, reliable, trustworthy, caring, considerate and has the ability to connect with each and every child in her care on their own level. She brings not only fun, but a large amount of energy to the classroom and playground. Nothing is too much for her.
It is inconceivable that the school and SGB do not deem her fit to carry out this position, or that they were able to find a more suitable candidate.
To employ Courtenay in this role would have been a seamless transition. No impact to children, parents and teachers. The impact to our children does not seem to have been taken into consideration. They feel safe around her, and in turn, so do we. She feels like family. And that’s the wonderful thing about Llandudno Primary. It is like a big family.
The sudden move and restructure makes no sense and has provided her with little time to find alternative sources of income.
We implore you to reconsider your position, or at the very least, to provide her with more time to prepare for the next chapter in her life.

I have requested a formal meeting with the school governing body to discuss the decision regarding the aftercare facilitator role. We are currently preparing a document that outlines parent concerns and will deliver this to the school administration later this week.

The volume of support for this petition has gained significant momentum and confirms that we have a clear mandate for our request. I am currently finalizing a formal letter to the school board to request a meeting regarding the aftercare transition. I will provide an update once I have received a response to our formal inquiry.

I was a contemporary with Courtenay at Llandudno Primary 40 years ago. Having Courtenay remain a part of the school and care for my kids in the next generation is very special, given her history and long relationship with the school.
We are new at the school and we had a number of unique complications but Courtney has been so amazing and supportive. She has gone out of her way to assist us.
In Courtenay we trust. She has been an integral part in my childrens everyday life at Llandudno and has made it a safe haven for them. Someone they and we as parents trust, which is a really big deal. She feels like family. All three of my children adore Courtenay. She is a support in every way for a parent and for a child.
Courtenay has dedicated herself to this position and it shows, the children adore her and trust that they are safe and loved in her care. She has also had to survive through the adversity of Covid now to be dismissed by the school, it is not fair or right that she is pushed aside... for what?
My kids love aftercare with Courtenay. She treats them like they are her own and I have a huge amount of trust in her. I am devastated to hear she no longer holds the position and urge the school to reconsider.
I admire Courtenay 's love for kids and she deserves to stay as long as possible at Aftercare. She dedicated her time and passion in taking care of kids.
Oh my word! This is devastating! Courtenay has really been an intergral part of Llandudno. If you think of Llandudno aftercare, you see Courtenay!

I have lived in Llandudno for 45 years I have known Courtney since she was a pupil at Llandudno and I was on the school committee. I can't think of a more capable person to look after my granddaughter at aftercare and always find the children happy when I get there to pick up. Please reconsider her position our children are precious.
