This is crazy! Replacing a local business with a remote absentee business makes no sense whatsoever. Shame on black stone.

Coronado Surfing Academy is the best. We won't be going to The Del for anything (except the bathroom) now.

The community tries to sell "local" to the tourist but sells out the local to outside vendors. Its like going to Brazil or Spain and picking up something to take back to remember your trip and reading the tag " made in China". Is that what we as a community want to be known as?

What makes Coronado great is its small town feel, and this is largely due to our supporting of small businesses. I don’t know Teevan but I support well run locally owned businesses. It saddens me when I travel back to places after not having been there for some time and seeing how big businesses change them. Ultimately every place which sells out ends up feeling the same, let’s not let that be us too.

Growing up in San Diego, what made the culture and community so special was its love and support of all things “local” - local beaches, local taco shops, etc. I would hate to see that be eroded, especially in an area so fundamental to the identity of San Diego - surfing.
