We should stay closed until 14 days of no new cases. We're just seeing it for the first time in Coos County. There are asymptomatic cases still shedding virus.

We need to wait and see if we can contain the cases we already have. Opening up too early could cause more cases that we won't be able to get a handle on. This community is too small for that.

I totally agree we are not safe enough to open yet! I'm immune compromised and I can't go anywhere without the fear of getting sick, and opening things up is just going to cause the virus to spread and become our worst nightmare! I'm sorry trust me I need to get out too we live in a tiny motorhome and it's kinda cramped, but we make do. We miss our beach time, we miss fishing but our health and safety is #1 people!!

With cases on the rise, this is a NO BRAINER. You would have to be drinking bleach tainted Kool-Aid to think this wasn't necessary.

Opening our county will put everyone at risk, we were very fortunate to have such low numbers considering the size of our at risk population. Seeing how quickly the virus has spread to those in Shutter Creek Prison only confirms we are doing the right thing by sheltering in place and keeping public contact to a minimum. Additionally our county has almost no Critical Care units (I.C.U). Bay Area Hospital has less than 20, Southern Coos hospital doesn't have any. Opening now is just too much of a risk for this area.

I feel it's absolutely absurd that we have to sign a freaken petition to keep a stay at home order going & keep all non essential businesses closed still! We absolutely DO NOT need to start opening up non essential businesses yet especially with the situation at hand with covid-19! Coos county had ZERO cases until like 2 weeks ago & in that time we have gotten 8 or 9 inmates from shutter creek correctional institution & now 1 of their employees! And 3 of the inmates have been released because their sentences were done (2 of those inmates are in coos county/ coos bay-north bend areas) and they were only advised to self quarantine voluntarily but do u really think even voluntarily they're gonna self quarantine when they've been locked up for so long? Our communities severely at risk & this petition needs to be taken seriously!!

I was astonished that the, so called, county commissioners would leave us open for disaster. We are a county with too many elderly and we have a high rate of asthmatics! I appreciate the pressure from some but they are supposed to protect ALL the people in this county

Coos County has been lucky so far. The isolation measures have been working. It is premature to reopen now as we are just seeing a few cases. Learn from history and see what happened in cities that isolated and those that didn’t during the Spanish Flu. See what happened in Louisiana after Mardi Gras. One inmate transferred into Shutter Creek and quickly spread to others. If we fill our beaches, dunes, hotels and casino with people from the cities, they will inadvertently bring the virus resulting in loss of life and greater economic losses.
