We the undersigned respectfully request that you reconsider your decision to change Confirmation from 8th grade to high school for the St. Theresa school students. As parents who made the decision to send our children to St. Theresa School, we often struggle with the financial burden, but do so willingly in order to provide them with the quality Religious education received here. In so doing, we entered into this commitment with the belief that our children would be ready and able to receive their sacraments within this community, with the friends they have grown up with in this faith. We feel that asking our children to wait beyond the 8th grade and to return for additional CCD classes underestimates the depth and value of the religious education they are receiving at St. Theresa School. Additionally, we believe that as our children enter into high school and are faced with tough decisions, they deserve the right to have the added strength of soul that the blessing of the Holy Spirit can give them. As our children continue to grow in their faith, the community they are building now while at St. Theresa School is invaluable. Please allow them the right to take this step as a class, while in attendance at St. Theresa School.

The administration has yet to acknowledge our formal request for a meeting regarding the schedule change. I am currently drafting a follow-up letter that outlines the specific concerns raised in the comments here. We remain committed to ensuring that our children receive the sacrament within this school community.

My older son had his confirmation in 8th grade there and it was such a special experience for his whole class. Please dont take this away from the younger ones.
St Theresa students work so hard in religion class. They are more than prepared by the time they hit 8th grade. Dont make them wait.
Why change what isnt broken? The 8th graders are ready for this milestone. Leave it alone.
8th grade is the perfect time for this. Keep it as it is.
THIS IS RIDICULOUS. They need the sacrament before high school starts. Everyone knows how crazy freshman year gets.
