College instructors should not be allowed to personally deduct from your grade because of an absence. We as students need to remind them that we are the ones who pay large amounts of money for them to teach us, and our grades are extremely important to us. Life is inevitable, and some day you are going to miss a class. No professor should ever discipline a student for being absent by giving him or her a zerothat brings down the grade that he or she pays for. Let's all stand up and let them know this.

This petition would cover keeping you from a professor who makes attendance an actual grade. It does not protect you from being dropped from the course or from missing course work. This is entirely based around professors disciplining your gradefor an absence.
