I am closely reading every thoughtful comment posted here about the need for rigorous vetting before anyone enters our country. My own fear for our neighborhood drove me to start this and seeing how many of you share that same priority keeps me pushing for a real response from the government.

The momentum behind this request is truly overwhelming. It confirms my deepest fear that so many of you feel the exact same urgency about keeping our families protected.

The consequences of not screening migrants from Syria are potentially catastrophic. No amount of good intentions can be allowed to compromise Canadian security.
The main priority of our government is to keep us safe. Trust, but FIRST, verify.
Safety and security are paramount. PLEASE look at what happened this morning in Paris. Resettlement, yes...but not now...not yet...not without safeguards...
Mr.Trudeau I would think a referendum on this issue will give you an accurate estimate of the popularity of your strategy regarding the refugees. The people of Quebec had the privilege to express their opinion in the "Separation" I consider to be only fair, for all Canadians, to express their acceptance in living with those refugees you intend to bring to Canada. Your Canada,Mr.Trudeau, is our Canada ,too.
Mr. Trudeau, please do not be just a bad politician. Also please do not make decisions based only on your emotions. Those are not political refugees. According to their look they are not even economical ones. Majority are adventurers and perhaps terrorist.
Screening is a no- brainer. Why wouldn't the government screen?
Screening should be done the way Israelis do .Only those who want to work not to come here to receive welfare and OHIP for free should be accepted.

the refugees considered for admission to Canada are now temporarily in democratic european countries and therefore there is no need to skip strict and judicious vetting procedures before admiting them.
